    Red Alert - Blue Green Algae - Yanga Lake

    There is currently a RED alert for toxic Blue-Green Algae for Yanga Lake. Regatta Beach Picnic Area, is still open but contact with the water should be avoided. Algae may be toxic to humans and animals. Contact with or use of water from red alert areas should be avoided due to the risk of eye and skin irritation. Drinking untreated or boiled water from these supplies can cause stomach upsets. Alternative water supplies should be sought or activated carbon treatment employed to remove toxins. People should not fish when an algal scum is present. Further Information is available at http://www.waternsw.com.au/algae or call the park office on 03 5021 8988.

    Traffic Alert - Waugorah Road

    There is currently major construction activity in Yanga National Park resulting in increased heavy haulage vehicle activity on the public road leading to Woolpress Bend Campground. Caution should be exercised to allow for this traffic. There are also sections of road-surface damage including bridge approaches. People accessing Woolpress Bend Campground should exercise caution, give way to trucks, and drive to the conditions.
