    Record Visitor Crowds at William Ricketts Sanctuary

    With the reopening of the sanctuary on 3 August 2026 we are seeing record breaking visitation! The high level of interest is fantastic and greatly appreciated, we just ask visitors to consider their timing and potential issues with parking. We highly recommend visitors to plan their visit to the sanctuary on weekdays when it is significantly quieter. If you are visiting at a peak time on weekends, please have patience and observe all road rules. Please note that the public car park is 150m along Mt Dandenong Tourist Road towards Kalorama, not at the actual gate entrance. No vehicles are permitted in the bus stop area. Gates are locked at 4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm.
