    QPWS · Caution

Wongari (Dingo) Rearing and Emergence Season (update 31 Aug)

Limiting dingo-human interactions, particularly during rearing and emergence season, is critical to the welfare of pups. This is a particularly important time for pups to learn natural hunting and survival skills and to avoid habituation towards people. Take particular care and slow down when driving on K’gari - pups are exploring their environment, and this is the time they are most at risk of vehicle strike. Give dingoes space, K’gari is their place.
