    Solid Fuel Fire Ban

    A park fire ban is in place in this park and remains in effect unless otherwise extended or removed. During park fire ban periods, all campfire and solid fuel (wood, heat beads, charcoal, briquettes, hexamine) barbecues and stoves are prohibited. Gas and electric barbecues and cookers are permitted as long as: They're under direct control of an adult The ground within 2m of the barbecue is cleared of all flammable materials There's an adequate supply of water (minimum of a bucket) If a Total Fire Ban is in place, different rules apply. Contact the local park office before bringing a gas or electric barbecue or cooker. Penalties apply for non-compliance.     Reduce speed and drive to conditions

    As a result of wet weather in the area, some roads and trails have become impacted, leaving them washed out and/or under water for long periods of time. While they have dried out, access trails can still have rough surfaces and require maintenance. Please reduce speed, drive to conditions, and be aware of your surroundings. NPWS and contractor heavy plant and equipment may be working in the areas, and care should be taken if you come across them. For more information, contact the NPWS Dubbo area office on 02 6841 7100.

    Ongoing Poison 1080 ground baiting program for wild dog and fox control

    NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will be conducting a ground baiting program using Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE) that contain 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of foxes. The program will be ongoing between 01 August 2026 and 01 February 2026 along management trails in Goonoo State Conservation Area & National Park, Breelong National Park, Cobbora State Conservation Area and Coolbaggie Nature Reserve . Readily identifiable 1080 poison signs have been positioned at trail entry points or trail junctions throughout the reserve. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs should be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance. Penalties apply for non-compliance. For further information please call the NPWS Bathurst area office on 02 6332 7640.
