Bingi Dreaming track - Closed and open coastal lakes and lagoons

Bingi Dreaming track crosses openings to several Intermittently Closed and Open Coastal Lakes and Lagoons (ICOLLS). Openings of these lakes and lagoons are often unpredictable and can be quite dramatic. Please be aware that although lakes are usually only open for short periods (weeks), they can be impassable when open. The Coila Lake opening is at the southern end of Bingi Dreaming track. Please check if this lake is open before you set out. If the opening is impassable, you won't be able to access the village of Tuross to complete the walk.

Congo Campground – Visitor notice campsite sandy condition

Due to ongoing dry conditions, several campsites (sites 10,12,13) at Congo campground currently have soft and sandy surfaces, particularly in areas accessed by vehicles. These conditions may make vehicle manoeuvring difficult, and visitors are encouraged to take extra care when driving or setting up. To help minimise impacts and avoid vehicle bogging, please park on firmer ground where available or pack ground matting / camp matting / annex flooring. Remedial works to improve campground surface conditions are scheduled after April school holidays. If you would like to update or change your booking, please login to the NPWS guest portal or call the National Parks Contact Centre on 1300 72757 (1300 PARKS). For any further information, please contact the NPWS Narooma area office on 02 4476 0800.
