Cautions

  • 4WD access in Brindabella National Park · NPWS

    NPWS · Caution

4WD access in Brindabella National Park

Trails in Brindabella National Park can be extremely challenging in all weather conditions. Steep gradients, loose surfaces, and limited traction make access difficult in both wet and dry conditions. Caution is advised if you are travelling to the following areas: McIntyres Campground Lowells Flat Campground Flea Creek Campground and Picnic area. Access to both McIntyres and Lowells Flat Campground, requires a high-clearance 4WD vehicle with low-range capability, off-road tyres and a driver with 4WD experience. There is very limited to no mobile phone reception in these areas to call for assistance. Recovery, if required, will be difficult and costly. Trail closures may occur at short notice. Always check the NPWS website for updates before travelling. Plan ahead and drive safely. For further information, contact the NPWS Queanbeyan office on 02 6229 7166.
